I had always been curious about Cornelissen's wines. No winemaker seems to divide opinion as he does, with some calling him a maverick genius and others a fraud, so I decide to thread with care and try first his entry wine, Susucaru. The wine turned out to be delicious. Yes, there was a barley detectable spritz in the beginning, but it soon disappeared to give way to a transparent, pure version of the Nerello Mascalese fruit. There is not a lot of complexity, but the flavours are intense, clear and resonant. It is also elegant and vertical, without sweetness or any other concessions to market, and all the better for it.

Made with old style artisanal methods, natural and healthy. Light body, dry and acidic.This will be very good in the summer season.
