Bodegas Villanueva

The Grupo Villanueva has its roots in the 1960s, when Obdulio Villanueva Blanco, a young man from Castrelo de Miño, began to sell his wine locally after receiving good reviews. In 1983, with the growing influence of Denominations of Origin, he launched his first commercial brand, Viña Senra. During the 1990s, the company expanded its operations and in 1995 it acquired the Pazo As Barreiras in Salvaterra de Miño.

Currently, the third generation of the family manages the group, promoting its modernisation and differentiation in the market. Bodegas Villanueva, based in Salvaterra de Miño, Pontevedra, specialises in the production and commercialisation of wines, and acts as the parent company of four wineries with recognised designations of origin: Bodegas Villanueva Senra (D.O. Ribeiro), Bodega Pazo As Barreiras (D.O. Rías Baixas), Bodegas De Los Ríos Prieto (D.O. Ribera del Duero) and Bodegas Villanueva Riojanas (D.O. Rioja). These wineries are known for their distinctive commercial brands, consolidating the group's prestige in the wine industry.
