Pazo de Villarei

Pazo de Villarei grows Albariño grapes on 81 hectares of 20 year-old vineyards, lying on the banks of the River Unia. They count on the services of oenologist Guillermo Alvarado who goes to great lengths to create wines of remarkable expression, following local wine-growing traditions very closely. The vineyards are cultivated using vine arbours which enable the humidity to be kept well under control and allow proper development of the plant vegetation and improved ripening of the grapes. The climate in this region is warm and damp, with little depth to the sandy soils which create an ideal microclimate for producing this wine.
