Domaine Jaume

Facing the majestic Mount Ventoux, the extensive Domaine Jaume spreads out into two of the four areas of the Cru de Vinsobres appellation, Le Coteau and Les Collines, and produces wines under the Côtes du Rhône and Vinsobres labels. The modern chapter in the history of this 92-hectare estate in Vinsobres began in the 1920s when Henri Chauvet and Baron Le Roy introduced the idea of appellations (controlled designations of origin) in France. Henri Chauvet's son-in-law, Pierre Jaume, was the first to begin work developing this estate and his son, Claude, the first to bottle wines here. Grandsons, Pascal and Richard took over the business in the 1980s and have continued to extend and improve Domaine Jaume up to the present day.

Their unshakeable commitment to sustainable organic winemaking is laid out in their "Carta Vinéa Natura" charter. Precise and meticulous work is carried out in the vineyards to ensure their grape-growing is in harmony with nature (using natural organic compost, natural vegetation ground cover, leguminous pasture, fruit thinning by early removal of unripe bunches, encouraging natural defences etc.) so as to guarantee the quality and expressiveness of their wines.

Domaine Jaume produces exceptional cuvées which delight anyone who tries them, whether they be expert wine drinkers or non-experienced wine-lovers. Fresh and fruity wines whose quality ensures they provide great value for money. Among their specialities, the Altitude 420 cuvée is unquestionably the most representative. A blend of 60% Grenache and 4'0% Syrah, it reveals notes of red fruit in the nose. It is brimming with pleasant fresh fruit such as redcurrants and blackcurrants, and a partial ageing in wood preserves the aromas and adds measured tannins. It is an ideal partner for grilled or barbecued red meat.
