Bodegas Vivanco
Established in 1990 under the leadership of Pedro Vivanco, Bodega Dinastía Vivanco is located in the town of Briones, in La Rioja Alta. Nowadays, his sons, Santiago and Rafael, are in charge of running this venture. Santiago Vivanco is a law graduate and holds a master’s degree in business management and administration; his incorporation into the family business has involved the challenge of modernising the organisation, directing it towards quality excellence. Whereas Rafael Vivanco is an agronomy engineer with a master’s degree in business management and administration, and a graduate from the Faculty of Oenology in Bordeaux; his immediate task is to select the best from the family vineyards for creating first-class Rioja wines that will become the Bodegas Dinastía Vivanco flagship.
They own 300 hectares of vineyards which extend over the municipalities of Briones and Haro. The area has a mild micro-climate and calcareous-clay soils.
They mainly grow Tempranillo, along with Graciano, Mazuelo, Garnacha, and Cabernet Sauvignon on an experimental basis. Among the white varieties, Viura features strongly, with Garnacha Blanca and Malvasía also grown.
