Château de Nages

Located in the Costières de Nîmes appellation, the most southerly region in the Rhône valley, the Château de Nages winery is owned by the skilled winemaker Michel Gassier — from the fourth generation of a great family of vignerons. Their estate is undoubtedly the most outstanding one in the area and clearly shows the possibilities this terroir can offer.

The wines from Château de Nages are produced with technical precision and represent an intense expression of the terroir of Costières de Nîmes. They are expressive in their fruit, but at the same time offering depth and extraction, and are made using the most typical grape varieties in the Rhône valley. Syrah is the variety Château de Nages cultivate the most; Grenache is grown on the poorer soils which balances this grape's natural exuberance; Mourvèdre brings a surprisingly spiced complexity to the wines; some of the vineyards grow Roussanne for the white wines to which it confers a splendid aromatic richness; finally, the Grenache Blanc is used to round off coupages, or blends, with its crystalline mineral imprint.

Don't miss this chance to try some of the best wines from the south of France in terms of price-pleasure ratio. The high scores and words of praise they have received from wine critics such as Robert Parker or Jeb Dunnuck guarantee you won't go wrong!
