The wine

Zuccardi Aluvional Gualtallary Tupungato Alto 2019 is an Argentine wine of great character, made in the Uco Valley, Mendoza. Made from 100% Malbec grapes, it expresses the unique conditions of Gualtallary, with alluvial soils that provide minerality and freshness.

This wine presents intense aromas of black fruits, herbs and a touch of spice, while the palate offers firm tannins, good acidity and a long, elegant finish. It is ideal for pairing with grilled meats, cured cheeses and game dishes.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The 2015 Aluvional Gualta Tupungato Alto doesn't show the full word "Gualtallary" on the label because it's still a registered mark. The wine was produced with grapes from a vineyard in Tupungato Winelands in Gualtallary. The most austere and mineral wine of the whole Aluvional range, it's serious, balanced and concentrated with abundant, dusty and chalky tannins. As with some of their other wines from Gualtallary, I noticed a big jump in quality here, possibly from a much deeper knowledge of the place and working with the soils to divide the plots in different zones according to their characteristics. This has to be the finest Aluvional I have ever tasted from Zuccardi. After a good amount of time in the glass, the nose starts hinting at where it can go, developing nuances and subtle aromas that keep changing over time. Bravo! 10,000 bottles were filled in December 2016.
