El Rapolao
Rapolao is the Bierzo’s most famous vine-growing site thanks to the impetus given by Raúl Pérez and the Castro Ventosa family. A vineyard primarily planted with the Mencía variety, on a hillside, at an altitude of 500 m and facing westwards, in the coolest area of Valtuille de Abajo. The grapes ripen later and pick up all the aromas of the landscape, which are reflected in due course in the wine’s aromatic richness.
