The wine

Val delle Corti is the neatest label to discover a Chianti Classico that is finally genuine and connected to the territory, outside the usual big names of the denomination but within one of the best municipalities in the whole area, Radda. Because it is the fruit of the hard work of an upstanding winemaker, of solid principles and strong skills, who knows how to work the Sangiovese while respecting its intimate character. Because, starting with the wise use of casks and old wood, his wine has a clear style, without excesses of either structure or strange aromas: it is what a great traditional Chianti Classico should be, that is, a Sangiovese from the high hills that is full of flavour, refreshing to drink, clear, agile, classic and modern at the same time.

A vivid red, right from its colour, which is a lovely ruby with light reflections. On the nose it expresses all the texture of the land and soil, with intriguing notes of chalk, lime, earth, naturally on a fruity texture of red fruit jam and black cherry in alcohol. Complex, elegant and chiselled in detail like few other Chianti Classico wines, if waited for in the glass it offers spicy sensations of pepper, then tobacco and leather, with a powerful balsamic character. The taste is agile and thirst-quenching, with balanced tannins and the typical acidity of Sangiovese at the forefront. It stings and quenches thirst without over-structuring, yet it offers an almondy aromatic trail of black fruits that will not leave you quickly.

Val delle Corti

Radda in Chianti is one of the best municipalities of Chianti Classico. This is due to the soils, which are the quintessence of this great and historic territory: soils rich in marl, skeleton, limestone and minerals. And, of course, the climate and altitude, which here often exceed 500 metres and exalt the freshness and acidity of the Sangiovese. But a key role is obviously also to be assigned to the wine growers: a generation of connoisseurs of the territory...
