Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Jancis Robinson
The NV Tradicion Amontillado VORS, certainly has the more complex and subtle nose of all these VORS and is on average 45 years old. It has a very clean nose, with elegance and complexity, powerful but subtle notes of hazelnuts, honey and even some dates. The medium-bodied palate shows a sharp wine with strong salinity, it has the power and the lightness, in a very difficult combination.
This combines pungency, nail varnish, and sweetness on the palate. It has caramel and smells of a bakery. A lot of hazelnut and a touch of smoke, vanilla and sweet spices. The maturity is obvious on the nose. This wine is almost an oloroso. Charred nuts. Long, deep and powerful. Pungent and powerful in style. Extremely complex with orange peel and brandy on the back palate.
Although regular sherry drinkers, this is outside our budget for every day consumption. We've been keen to try it since a visit to the bodega a couple of years ago. Here, being a relatively small scale operation, they have been able to keep to traditional methods, this being apparent in the finished product. In comparison with our regular 12-15 euro brand, we noticed so much more going on in the glass. A little more wood, a better fortifying spirit and time well spent in the solera system has resulted in a complex and very satisfying wine. For us it's going to be something for a special occasion but well worth it's price.

Exceptionnel !

Very good old amontillado from a nice bodega
Classic dry real old amontillado from the quality bodega tradition in Jerez. The price is real good considering the age and quality.
