The wine

This is the jewel in the crown of the Castel del Monte DOCG wine-producing area. The Bombino Nero vinified into rosé has produced such an outstanding wine that it has received a high quality appellation just for itself. At the foot of a location imbued with magic and history sits the Castel del Monte, the Apulian fortress built by Frederick II of Swabia and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is here that the Bombino Nero grows, a late-ripening variety which does not reach full ripeness, thereby ensuring perfect conditions for rosé winemaking with full but delicate aromas and flavours.

The vineyards, located at altitudes of up to 600 metres and boasting optimal exposure, in mineral-rich soil of which the Castle itself is constructed, give the product a freshness and vigour of enviable full-bodied sharpness, which mixes harmoniously with the wide range of fruity fragrances it releases. Fragrances which have been preserved thanks to an astute ageing process: a brief initial stay in steel tanks, followed by several months of maturation in bottle.

Intense pink in colour, of an irresistible and deep cherry-red hue, to the nose Veritas is a surprising wine due to its complexity, where strawberry, currant and raspberry do not overmask the deeper scents of herbs, plum, tuff and rhubarb. A robust and spritely rosé, perfectly balanced and agreeably persistent, Veritas is one of the most important symbols of rosé in Apulia, which can be enjoyed by everyone thanks to our prices which, quite frankly, are exceptional.

Torrevento

An ancient Benedictine monastery carved into the harsh rock of the Murgia plateau is the heart of one of the best wineries in the new showcase of quality winegrowing in Apulia: Torrevento. Torrevento, in the shadow of Castel del Monte, the medieval fort built by Frederick II of Swabia with the same beautiful rocks from the surrounding area, has been working since 1920 on the development and recovery of native grapes in this tiny plot in Apulia, with unique and traditional care...
