The wine

Lamùri, from the Sicilian word for "love" (amore), is a declaration of love for the territory and its most fascinating grape variety. Tasca d'Almerita’s Lamùri is proof of all the elegance and finesse that Nero d'Avola can express. A Sicilian red wine of great complexity, but also of astonishing immediacy. To be ordered in multiples, but also to be sipped calmly.

This label has all the ingredients of a great wine. The noble vine. A great aristocratic history, that of the Tasca d'Almeritas, one of the most famous families in Sicilian wine. An extraordinary estate, Regaleali, in the high hills, a guarantee of a classy and elegant wine. Barrel ageing gives that touch of sumptuousness to a drink that is always crunchy and satisfying.

What does this wine taste like?

Brilliant, with an intense ruby red colour, Lamùri is an unusual Nero d'Avola from the high hills. A straight and fresh interpretation of a grape that elsewhere gives rather round and markedly fruity wines.

Sipping Tasca d'Almerita's Lamùri takes you into a different taste dimension. The nose is indeed fruity, with notes of cherry, blackberry, mulberry and plum, but also floral hints of violet and rose, as well as rich spicy notes of vanilla, cocoa, tobacco and herbs.

A remarkable complexity compared to the Nero d'Avola cliché. Which is also found on the palate: multifaceted and pleasant. Thanks to its medium body and tantalizing freshness, it is a compulsive wine, even though it is a red that has been in barrels.

A wine that is still fruity but at the same time sapid, spicy, with elegant and silky tannins. With an intense, complex, persistent and very, very intriguing finish. An extraordinarily harmonious and balanced Sicilian red wine.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

Here's a classic expression of Sicily's number one indigenous grape. The Tasca Conti d'Almerita 2019 Sicilia Nero d’Avola Lamùri Tenuta Regaleali offers plenty of dark fruit intensity and toasted pistachio nut, wild fennel and scorched earth. This is your quintessential pasta and meat ragù wine, thanks to its freshness and accessible style.
