The wine
This new vintage of Taberner Nº 1 is no longer a single varietal Syrah and has been richly enhanced in nuances supplied by Merlot (17%) and Cabernet (3%) grapes. A great wine that continues to confirm its lineage of excellent complexity, subtlety and refinement.
A very dark cherry colour, the wine has a complex nose, displaying aromas of ripe fruit, with lactic notes, hints of plums and figs, balsamic wafts, aromatic herbs, orange peel and fine aldehydes. It comes over as flavoursome, aromatic and floral on the palate, manifesting plenty of texture, lively acidity and fine tannins. There is good length and persistence.
Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels and afterwards in bottle.
