The wine
The Tuforosso di Sassotondo consists mainly of Sangiovese combined with the other red berried grapes of the Sovana vineyards. The soils are tufaceous, fairly loose, with poor organic fertility but rich in minerals such as potassium and magnesium. At sight this wine has a clear ruby red color, with a nice liveliness; it is intense and persistent on the nose, with red fruits and plum. The taste is dry, warm but supported by a pleasant acidity; soft and enveloping tannins. Ideal in combination with red meat dishes such as grilled meat and roasts.
