The wine
Produced from Garnacha vines grown at an altitude of 400 metres in Gratallops (Priorat).
It derives its name from the flower Ruella (poppy in English), which sweeps through the vineyards in springtime.
In appearance it is a red colour, of medium to low density. On the nose it displays aromas of ripe fruit with floral and undergrowth notes, coming over as incisive, complex and subtle. The palate is structured, fruity, light and fresh. It has smooth tannins and fine acidity, with good persistence.
Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

The winery
Celler Balaguer i Cabré

The bodega is located nowadays in the oldest part of Gratallops, in a restored building which boasts a wine-making room, an ageing room (the former cellar of this renovated old house) and a tasting room with magnificent views looking out towards the vineyards...
