The wine
Pio Cesare's Barolo is a classic product which matures for over three years both in French oak barriques and larger barrels, ideally combining tradition and innovation. The result is a balanced wine, characterised by firm but measured tannins, a frank and ready interpretation of this extraordinary Nebbiolo. On nose it successfully achieves harmony between sweet notes of dried plum and jam and fresher notes, including balsamic and liquorice, while the taste is clean, refined and persistent, approachable in youth but extraordinarily fulfilling.

Pio Cesare
Active for five generations, Pio Cesare is one of the most historic wineries in Alba and the entire Langhe area. Built along the Roman walls of ancient Alba, the winery has been active since 1881. The team, today decidedly modernized but still managed by the family, takes care of 70 hectares of vineyards, located in the Barolo and Barbaresco area.
