The wine

The first release of this wine was back in 1993 with the 1990 vintage, and it was created by winemaker John Duval to satisfy the market's desire for an immediate, easy-drinking style Cabernet Sauvignon. Bin 407 delivers on this front, and over the years the quality of the fruit from the various vineyards used has become even better, enabling the varietal character of the grape to be expressed even more purposefully.

Dark red in colour, intense and bright, the wine exudes aromas of black olives, blackcurrants and lavender on a cinnamon and oak background. There is an impressive finish on the palate, with appreciable fruit notes and tannins coming through.

Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Subsequent rest in bottle for 21 months.
