Telmo Rodríguez was one of the pioneers in the discovery of Garnachas from the Sierra de Gredos, an area which gives rise to delicious wines, so different from one another, depending upon the orientation and especially the soil composition.
The Pegaso line enables us to enjoy two very distinct wines: Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra, a particularly mineral Garnacha, with earthy and pencil lead notes, and exhibiting plenty of ripe fruit and aromas redolent of the countryside and aromatic plants... and Pegaso Granito, with another sort of minerality, more balsamic and distinctly floral. Two honest wines, two wines which allow us to recognise the richness of the Garnacha, the potential of this area close to Madrid, and some very fine work indeed.

Joli vin très typé grenache mais un peu massif
Ouvert en début de semaine ce grenache de Castille et Léon m'a moyennement impressionné. A l'ouverture le nez est très marqué par les fruits rouges, puis par des notes de bonbon à la fraise. Avec le temps, des notes fumées finissent par s'imposer, accompagnées de parfums de pétales de rose fanées. La bouche est extrêmement intense, très marquée par les épices, et avec des tanins légèrement asséchants. Cette sensation de légère astringence est encore renforcée par la très nette note réglissée qui signe la finale. Bref, un vin dont l'aromatique ne m'a globalement pas emballé, mais qui est incontestablement bien fait. A réserver je pense aux amateurs de grenaches sur granits qui se régaleront des notes amères et fumées.
