The wine
The Nº 2 de Maucaillou can’t claim as much complexity and volume as its older sibling, the tremendous Château Maucaillou, but it does bear testimony to a true shared spirit through its notable qualities: a captivating, truly delightful and generously fruity red.
What does this wine taste like?
A purple-garnet colour, it has a spicy nose revealing olives and blackcurrants with notes of blackberries and dried herbs, vanilla and fine toasty touches. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, flavoursome and enveloping, rounded, with silky tannins and a long finish.

Winemaking
The Nº 2 de Maucaillou comes from the same beautiful terrain of Moulis-en-Médoc as the company’s great wine, Château Maucaillou, results from a particularly stringent grape selection, and is made with meticulous attention to detail by the same oenologist, Pascal Dourthe.
