The wine

Fabla# 506 is one of the original wines produced for the first time in 1999 in the winery, blending Garnacha and Syrah. The vineyards located in the highest areas southeast of Calatayud are mainly based on slate and quartzite deposited in a sandstone terrain formed in the Tertiary Period by glacier activity. These soils, composed mainly of stones and gravel, are poor in nutrients and have a high drainage capacity: they are very specific for bush-trained Garnacha vines. 30% of the Garnacha is aged for 3 months in barrels. Intense cherry red colour. Typical Garnacha with aromas of ripe red fruit, plums, figs and some black pepper and minerality.

Raíces Ibéricas - Master Winemakers

Master Winemakers was founded by Mark Schiettekat in 2000 from the, at the time, a novel idea of making wines tailored to consumers' wishes to control all aspects of the wine, from grape varieties to the final product, including design and pre-set pricing, in consultation with customers; to work with indigenous grape varieties in their terroirs of origin; and not to exclude the most peculiar blends, even if they don't follow the rules, because creativity should never be truncated....
