The wine
Keermont Terrasse derives its name from the terraced vineyards of Keermont. The backbone of this mixture is Chenin Blanc from a 48-year-old vineyard called 'Riverside'; and this is complemented by Chenin from two younger vineyards and different quantities of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. All the grapes used in the production of our wines are grown in the Keermont vineyards. Most vineyard plots grow on soils rich in deep red clay derived from sandstone and granite and are surrounded by native vegetation. They are between 250 and 400 meters above sea level in the valley between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountain ranges.
