Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Aligoté

Since 1935, when the Controlled Appellation was created, only Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have been used in Burgundy. An old grape variety, Aligot or Aligoté, remains in a few plots cultivated with passion. The soil: clay-limestone. Aligoté is often planted in the same vineyards as Chardonnay, as in the past where several grape varieties were mixed. A fresh and fragrant wine. The color is pale yellow with green reflections. The nose has aromas of fresh grapes, slightly acidulous. Lots of freshness on the palate and sometimes a pleasant hint of flint. A pleasant balance between liveliness and softness. Vintage: Exceptional weather conditions resulted in a very healthy and high quality harvest. The whites have a very nice balance, an aromatic profile of flowers and ripe fruit.
