The wine
Late harvest is the new, more modern style of sweet wines from Hungary, here late harvest grapes are used (these may be botrytised grapes but this is certainly not a must, often deliberately avoided as with this wine). The residual sugar content is much lower than that of Aszú wines, but the high acids typical of the Furmint grape are certainly present and result in a fresh sweet wine with exotic notes like pineapple, mango and some spiciness like verbena.
