The wine

Over the last decade, Castillo de Perelada has concentrated on establishing a diverse range of superior quality wines, singular and intrinsically different, such as the Finca Garbet and Finca Malaveïna lines. Produced as vineyard estate wines portraying the best of the Empordà region, the hand-picked grapes are harvested at the point of optimal ripeness to ensure powerful, concentrated wines with a high degree of structure and finesse.

Finca Garbet has gained wide recognition due to consistently high marks scored for its wines that incorporate different percentages of the varieties depending on the year. This beautifully-positioned 7 ha terraced estate lies on mountainous terrain with slate soils, to the north of Cap de Creus and beside the Mediterranean Sea. As growing and ripening conditions are extremely favourable, Finca Garbet was always expected to showcase exquisite, characterful wines.

A deep cherry red colour with a violet rim, it offers a complex array of fine aromas, fruity, floral, spicy and toasty. Well-integrated, powerful, concentrated and packed with flavour, it will keep for many years to come.

Aged for 14 months in new French oak barrels and the rest spent in bottle.
