The wine

Vrucara is the name of the cru from which the grapes come. The name derives from a vineyard whose land has always been called "vrucara". It takes this name because it is widely known the "vruca", which in Sicilian is the name of a bush that spontaneously grows around the vineyard, of prefillosserica age. This herb expresses a menthol scent mixed with incense oil.

Nero d'Avola "Vrucara" is the symbol of the winery, perfectly expressing the rustic and imposing character of the territory. The refinement is carried out for 45 months on the yeasts inside cement barrels, then a short period between wood and bottle which is used to soften the essence of this wine; what derives from it is a product of structure and intensity, balsamic, of pleasant freshness and flavor.

Ruby red color, intense and persistent on the nose with fruity undergrowth, hints of cherry in alcohol and dried rose petals, in harmony with spicy vanilla and balsamic notes of eucalyptus, licorice and incense oil. Soft and velvety on the palate, with buttery notes, well structured with prolonged aromatic persistence to the aftertaste. Soft and balanced tannins. Accompanies red meats, roasts, game, cured meats and aged hard cheeses.

Feudo Montoni

Feudo Montoni

The magical courtyard from 1469 which is the heart of Fabio Sireci's passion, Feudo Montoni, between Agrigento, Palermo and Caltanissetta, is today one of the cornerstones of Sicilian wine and of the Nero d'Avola in particular. The vineyards, which reach 800 metres altitude, are grown biologically and are rich in spontaneous vegetation that feeds the ecosystem. The fragrant and soft Lagnusa, an engaging and rustic Nero d'Avola, the imperious and solemn Vrucara, the top Nero...
