Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker, Parker, Suckling, and Jancis Robinson

Packaged with a black label, the Ferrari 2014 Trento Metodo Classico Riserva Perlé Rosé Brut opens to a raspberry pink color and a lively appearance that is enhanced by fine beading and a pretty sparkle of light that shines from deep within the wine. This is a generous, medium-bodied Metodo Classico made from a blend of 80% Pinot Nero and 20% Chardonnay that is aged in bottle for five long years. It presents delicate aromas of wild berry, blue flower, toasted bread and a lifted note of dried mint or mountain herb that appears at the very end.

The 2012 Trento Metodo Classico Riserva Perlé Rosé Brut is a blend of 80% Pinot Nero and 20% Chardonnay aged in bottle for at least five years. The wine shows a pale pink color that is luminous and bright. The Pinot Nero fruit comes from vineyards that reach up to 700 meters in altitude. This firm-bodied sparkling wine shows an especially smooth and silky entry to the palate.

Plenty of candied orange and dried cherry on the nose, then a generous, crisp palate make a bold statement. Quite some complexity at the finish and enough acidity to keep this bright and lively. Chardonnay and pinot noir. Drink now.

Striking orange pink colour! A little leesy and stalky/savoury on the nose with lemon notes and with hints of raspberry underneath. Quite captivating. A lively sparkle shoots through the lemony raspberry fruit. Refreshing and invigorating and much better than many a Franciacorta or champagne. Long, lemony finish with lasting sparkle. Strange colour, though.

The story of Giulio Ferrari, from a wealthy family in the Trentino province, is a symbol of Italian enterprise, a model that is still to be followed and interpreted. Born in 1879, he studied at the agricultural school of San Michele all'Adige, but soon extended his interests by studying in Montpellier, Rheingau, and finally in Champagne. He then imported many northern European to Trentino, but above all, encouraged by the investments of the then Austro-Hungarian Empire, to which...
