Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The wine formerly known as Exopto has had a name change and is now the 2022 Expresión de Graciano, as it's now 85% Graciano with 15% Tempranillo. And it's not only Graciano from Rioja Baja but also has Graciano from Baños de Ebro and Ábalos, and the Tempranillo comes from San Vicente de la Sonsierra. So, not only has the name changed, the wine has also changed. 2022 was a warm year, and Graciano ripened thoroughly, helped by moderate yields, keeping very good acidity with very good aromatics and aging potential. It's ripe, as noted by the 14.5% alcohol, keeping a pH of 3.5 and 6.15 grams of acidity, very good parameters of freshness for the alcoholic degree achieved. It fermented in 225-liter oak barrels, with the percentage of new oak lowered to 30%. And 75% of the volume matured in 500-liter barrels, so the aromatic impact has diminished. 4,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2023.

Tom Puyaubert arrived in Spain early in the year 2000 from his native Bordeaux, as a sales rep for a famous French cooperage, but coming into daily contact with some of the country’s best winemakers made him feel not only more passionate about wine but also in particular for La Rioja, its vineyards, its wine-growing culture... In 2003 he founded Bodegas Exopto and since then his project has continued to make good progress, producing wines with personality, always using...
