The wine
Elvio Cogno Barolo Riserva Vigna Elena is a Barolo of absolute elegance, a wine for purists that never ceases to surprise for its uniqueness. The color is full and bright garnet red. The nose shows clear, clean and complex aromas, with notes of rose, fine tobacco, mint and hints of licorice. In the mouth it is enveloping, warm, full; reveals fresh spices and red berry fruit with pleasant tannins given by the stay for 36 months in large barrels. Pleasant return of fruit to the aftertaste. Recommended in combination with first courses with game sauces, roasted and stewed red meats, wild boar stew, long-aged hard tome, cheeses with a floral or blue rind.
