The wine
Barolo Cerretta Vigna Bricco comes from one of the legendary Serralunga crus and is another gem presented to us by this winery. After 2 years of ageing in barrel, a third of which are new, the ensuing 5,000 bottles appear a lovely, deep ruby colour with garnet glints. On the nose, this is a spicy, toasty, menthol and ethereal wine; on the palate, it's rich and flavoursome, with well-balanced silkiness thanks to its masterfully-handled tannins. An opulent, refined and generous wine, with incredible fullness and complexity.

This has resulted in wines which interpret the Langhe region with great respect, a modern approach and open to experimentation, and undoubtedly among Italy's most innovative in outlook. Originating from the best Barolo crus, the Elio Altare winery presents...
