The wine
The vine is a close relative of Dolcetto, from which it differs for the red stalk, for the smaller bunch and for the thicker skin but the Ormeasco gives sweeter tannins and a longer duration than its cousin Dolcetto. The aspect is clear, with a very intense garnet color. The nose is intense, persistent and fine, with hints of ripe blueberry and cherry, wrapped in a woody note. Dry, sufficiently fresh, savory, warm, slightly tannic, full and persistent flavor. The fruity aroma and pleasant tannins stand out in the aftertaste. Of excellent typicality and harmony. To be paired with stuffed pigeon, rabbit stewed in red wine and other rich and elaborate meat dishes.
