Domaine Usseglio Châteauneuf du Pape
2020Spec sheet
The wine
Making up about 80% of the blend, Grenache is the star grape in this Châteauneuf du Pape wine, blended with small amounts of other varieties growing in the different terroirs of the Domaine Usseglio Raymond & Fils winery. Aromas of red fruit such as cherries and plums stand out whereas hints of undergrowth give the wine its added complexity. A well-structured wine with elegant tannins, a wide mouth, a wonderful purity, and a long finish with roasted and spicy hints.
It is better to decant the wine if it is to be drunk young. As it is bottled unfiltered, there may be some deposits in the bottle — which are in fact natural and beneficial for the wine's ageing process.
