The wine
This wine's grapes come from the east of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, from the town of Courthézon. There, the vines are grown without the use of pesticides and harvesting is carried out totally by hand. The Grenache is the dominant factor in a style which also allots the Mourvèdre and Carignan a significant role. 80% of the stalks are removed from the clusters and the wine is later matured in large oak casks for several months before bottling. The cork conceals a red with a fine structure and aromas of ripe bramble fruits and liquorice. On the palate it's moderately tannic and rather luscious. A rounded finish to a food-friendly wine.
