The wine
This wine comes from a vintage year rated excellent by the DO and considered by many to be just about perfect. A blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Garnacha Tinta, it is made from the selected grapes of old vines.
Fermentation occurred in 10,000-litre stainless tanks with daily pumping over and a long maceration. Malolactic fermentation took place in new French Allier oak barrels which were then used for ageing the wine over a period of 20 months, in order to confer more complexity. There was no filtration.
