The wine
Santa Maddalena di Colterenzio is a South Tyrolean red wine obtained mainly from Schiav; at sight it has a brilliant ruby red color and a fruity aroma of red berries, black cherry and violet. Elegant structure, medium-bodied, slightly spicy. Fresh finish with elegant notes of bitter almond. Recommended with hearty appetizers, fish and first courses, white meats, poultry, speck and salami, sweet cheeses.

Colterenzio
Founded in 1960 by 28 wine-growers, the Cantina Colterenzio winery now has around 300 members and is one of the most active and enterprising firms in Alto Adige, managed for many years by Wolfgang Raifer, son of the renowned oenologist Luis Raifer who had also taken over the running of the winery back in the 1970s.
