Col d'Orcia Brunello Riserva Poggio al Vento

In the heart of the estate, halfway up the hill overlooking the Orcia river, at a moderately oblique point towards the south, is the Poggio al Vento vineyard. The name literally means “hill exposed to the wind” and this aspect in conjunction with the particular composition of the soil produces the exceptional Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento. The dominant and elegant tannins present in the wine require a long and traditional aging in the large oak barrels. After bottling, the wine needs another 3 years of bottle refinement before being presented on the market. Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento is produced only in the best vintages and represents one of the highest expressions of pure Sangiovese that can be found in Montalcino.

Intense ruby red. A wine of great complexity, fine and elegant. It has the typical fruity notes of Sangiovese, integrated with the spices given by the long stay in the barrel. Powerful and harmonious, with ripe and enveloping tannins, balanced with a pleasant acidity. Fruity, long and persistent aftertaste.
