The wine

Clos Nelín features among those wines which you have to try at least once in your life. It's a white that leaves a profound effect. Fortunately, not everyone feels the same way, because with the few bottles that come onto the market, it would be difficult to please all its admirers.

Clos Nelín is a wine with considerable character, a little masterpiece, a work of art. Combining a long list of varieties in its coupage, it's like pouring out a garden into a glass. Should you ever visit the vineyard, it is a garden teeming with diversity and colour. René Barbier is passionate about nature and naturalness.

Each Clos Nelín vintage is exciting in its own distinct way, consistent with a wine that is made showing total respect for nature and the characteristics of that particular year, but it rouses excitement every time with its wide aromatic palette, full of flowers, notes of beeswax, honeycomb and quince. It's mineral too, with chalky notes and a saline background, and a most interesting and appealing slight touch of oxidation. It is very pleasurable to drink and offers many nuances. Like every work of art of superior quality, time will increase the value of its merits.

Clos Mogador

Clos Mogador

René Barbier arrived in Priorat, from a well-known family of French vine-growers, when the wines of this region were totally unknown. He and a group of friends, including names now notably famous such as Josep Lluís Pérez (Mas Martinet Viticultors), Carles Pastrana (Costers del Siurana), Dafne Glorian (Clos i Terrasses) and, somewhat later, Álvaro Palacios (Álvaro Palacios), were the real architects of the recovery of this small appellation in inland Tarragona, greatly admired...
