The wine

Château Sénéjac is one of the best-known Crus Bourgeois of the Haut-Médoc appellation, owned by the Cordier family and with wine-making under the supervision of Alfred Tesseron and the Pontet-Canet team. A Bordeaux with a rich expression of fruits and floral notes, and a pleasant finish that’s slightly earthy.

What does this wine taste like?

Its aromas combine wild fruit, bay leaves expressing the grapes' typicity, and fine toasted hints from its time in oak. Elegant tannins have a finely-grained feel on the tongue, like cocoa powder. The acidity of plums and strawberries join seductive notes of liquorice and tobacco in a wonderfully created wine with a promising future.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker, Jancis Robinson, and Suckling

The 2018 Senejac is deep garnet-purple colored with a nose of warm berries, earth, herbs and tobacco plus floral notions. The palate is full-bodied and rich with fine-grained tannins, nice freshness and good length.

— Lisa Perrotti-Brown (23/04/2019)Robert Parker Wine Advocate Vintage 2018 - 90-92 PARKER

Barrel sample. Deepest crimson. Dark fruit and crushed rocks. Pure cassis intensity. Quite strict on the palate, the tannins upright and clean-cut giving a restraint that some wines lack in this vintage. Spicy, rounded on the finish. Harmonious and should be approachable early.

Blackcurrant, blackberry, herbal and earthy undertones. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins and structure. Savory and layered on the palate. Rich finish. Chewy. Try after 2024.
