The wine

Ripe, with a liberal toasty, spicy note leading the way, backed by mouthfilling red and black currant and blackberry preserve notes. There’s a long, solid, tar-tinged finish.(JM, Issue Apr 30, 2011)

Château Loudenne is a magnificent 17th century charterhouse. Located on the edge of the Gironde estuary, Château Loudenne is classified Cru Bourgeois with the appellation d'Origine Médoc. It is also a superb terroir which extends over 132 hectares; Château Loudenne indeed enjoys its exceptional geographical location.

A magnificent 17th century charterhouse which differs from other Medoc castles by its pink color and its astonishing collection of old and rare English roses; this is what earned it its nickname "Pink Château". It is the only castle in the Médoc to benefit from a private port.
