Château de Fosse-Sèche Réserve du Pigeonnier

Extraordinary aroma

What a splendid aroma, almost the essence of cabernet franc: bell peppers, peppercorns, blackberry liquor, eucalyptus... but also ginger, smoke, undergrowth, thyme, mint, peat and even a touch of almond. The palate is firm and well-delineated, with lively tannins, as in the best Loire cabernets do. There is also mouth-watering acidity. There is a little bit of a dip in the mid-palate which doesn't allow it to get the five stars although, if I could, I would give it 41/2. No hurry to drink it, it will last quite a bit more.
