The wine
The Carlmagnus is medium garnet-purple in color with pronounced notes of cedar over a core of red and black plums and black cherries as well as notes of tobacco and pencil lead. Medium to full bodied, the palate is very firm and mellow with an appealing freshness and a woody finish. If the structure sets in and the fruit emerges to fill this ambitious framework, it could well exceed my expectations.
