The wine
This is undoubtedly one of the best sweet wines from the Spanish Levant region. It provides the perfect end to a meal due to its pleasant taste and easy feel on the palate.
An intense shade of deep cherry-red, the nose is very complex and compact, combining most adeptly notes of raisin-ripe fruits (raisins, tomato preserve, dried plums) with wafts of cocoa, tobacco and cinnamon as a result of oak-ageing. There follows a honeyed, meaty entry on the palate where the ripe-flavoured fruit is enhanced by the wine's acidity.
Produced from the fruit of vines aged about 35 years old. Aged for 8 months in French and American oak barrels.
