The wine

In Neive, the epicenter of Barbaresco, in the shade of a splendid wisteria there is an ancient farm-house from 1582. This winery-house has become, since 1982, the cornerstone of the wine project of Bruno Roberto and Adriana Marzi, producers of some of the most emotional and engaging Barbaresco of recent years.

Traditional, with sustainable viticulture and ageing in large oak barrels, the Barbarescos from Glicine are based on a style that is not opulent, but subtle and elegant, with limited extractions and toasting which is never excessive. The wines are approachable, of an agile and dynamic drink, but above all of an absolute adherence to the variety, Nebbiolo, and to the original terroir of Neive.

Vignesparse is the traditional Barbaresco from Neive, deriving from various plots: Gallina, Serredella and Serraboella, which are well-known and high quality crus in the area. Bright ruby red tending to orange over time. It has an ethereal and composite nose, with puffs of liquorice, wild rose, violet. Dry, caressing, peaceful, very elegant, prone to softness considering the type. It matures in traditional Slavonian oak barrels, as per tradition, for at least three years.
