The wine

El Bruto 2022 is a red wine from the Jumilla Designation of Origin, produced by Bruto Vinícola S.L. in collaboration with the renowned Juan Gil family, the actor Imanol Arias and the creative Jorge Martínez. This single-varietal Monastrell comes from vineyards over 60 years old located 800 metres above sea level. After ageing for 24 months in French and American oak barrels, it has an intense red colour and deep aromas of ripe black fruits, with hints of coffee, dark chocolate and toasted notes. On the palate, it is robust, with firm tannins and a long finish. It is recommended to decant it for two hours before serving.

Bodegas Juan Gil

Bodegas Juan Gil

The origins of Bodegas Juan Gil date back to 1916, when Juan Gil Jiménez built the winery. Today it's the fourth generation at the helm, combining traditional expertise with more contemporary equipment and knowledge. The present-day winery, which began operating in 2002, lies on very poor soils at an altitude of about 800 metres. The climate is extreme, with strong contrasts between day and night temperatures and rain practically non-existent. The stony sand and limestone...
