The wine
Barón de Ley 7 Viñas Reserva is a perfect example of a 'true Rioja', celebrating blends and biodiversity. It comes from one single vineyard, over 70 years old, alive with all the different varieties used to make this wine, including three white grapes; Tempranillo, Graciano, Red Grenache, Carignan, Macabeo, Malvasia and Grenache Blanc. The fruit is vinified in four separate processes, and the resulting four wines are left to age for 36 months in different kinds of barrels. The final coupage is aged for twelve months in 10,000-litre French oak casks. An excellent work that is well worth trying.
What does this wine taste like?
A complex, elegant and very long wine which delights the nose with aromas of ripe berries and flowers such as roses and violets, and notes of spices and vanilla thanks to its ageing. In the mouth, it is balanced, rich in flavours, and wide and fruity with smooth tannins.

One of the few Spanish wineries listed on the stock exchange, it is now a business group bringing together names such as El...
