Rioja essentials
It's pretty much certain that the Rioja DOCa is Spain's most popular denomination of origin, and it's just as true to say that there are many and various realities in Rioja. Each one of the three sub-zones which form the denomination brings its own particular character to the wine, as well the input from the individual producer. 'Crianzas' denoting ageing periods are also a distinctive marker: with or without ageing, long or short ageing, French or American oak... In this selection we intend to show you Rioja's current reality in six bottles which constitute a good example of the diversity prevailing in the region. You'll find the juiciness of the carbonic maceration, long and short ageing, American and French oak, modern and classic profiles and even a wine that no longer accepts DOCa regulation, but always emanating from highly-regarded wineries and possessing their own character.
