Description

La Quinta Essència dels Llops is the brand name under which the Barbier family, of Clos Mogador, produce their 'aguardiente' (eau de vie or wine spirit) in collaboration with Brisfere, one of the few artisanal distilleries left nowadays in Cataluña, an innovator and boasting lengthy experience in the distillation of one of the finest raw materials: Priorat wines.

There are presently two wine spirits to be found on the market: a very select wine spirit, obtained from distilling the lees that settle in the barrels used for ageing the winery's most exclusive wine, Clos Mogador, and a slightly more modest wine spirit, if it can be described as such, obtained from distilling the wine which the Barbier family makes from those grapes which have been discarded in the second selection of berries that make the final grade in the production of their great wine; a less select wine spirit, therefore, but even so, truly exceptional.

The Destil·lat de Lies de Clos Mogador contains the Mogador's 'quinta esencia' (fifth essence), a wide array of aromas and nuances obtained after the painstaking process of distillation in a copper still. An excellent wine spirit, totally dry, colourless and with 42% alcohol.
