Trebbiano Giallo
Trebbiano giallo is easily identifiable with the highest quality trebbiano of Central Italy, which is clearly distinguishable from the generic Tuscan trebbiano. It is the noblest grape of the white wines of Lazio together with malvasia puntinata, with respect to which it assumes a more terse and mineral intense and fruity profile, less aromatic in short, with a medium structure and good balance between freshness and warmth. Also known locally as roscetto, it is probably the most historic wine of the Castelli Romani, so much so that the ancient uva trebulana grape, loved by the Romans as "the house grape", can be identified with this trebbiano clone. It is used mainly with the blend of Frascati and Est!! Est!! Est!! di Montefiascone.
