Petite Arvine

Thanks to the latest experiments and the most recent versions, petite arvine has definitely established itself as the best white grape of Valle d’Aosta. Bordering Valais, it is easily cultivated between 700 and 900 metres above sea level, so much so that some people define it as the "grape of the glaciers". A mountain viticulture, heroic and tiring, which adds to the somewhat capricious nature of this variety, which needs soils which are poor but not too dry, not too much wind and a lot of sun. Late, it is harvested also at the end of October, and lends itself both to a short stay in steel and moderate aging on lees, in steel or even in wood. It gives a wine of great elegance and refinement, straw yellow with greenish reflections, with floral notes of wisteria and white flowers, and fruity notes of grapefruit and passion fruit. On the palate it shows all its exuberant freshness, with hints of exotic fruit and above all a toolkit of sapidity and biting minerality, chalky and fully harmonic.
