Pelaverga
Pelaverga is the native red grape of Verduno, in the upper Cuneo area, in the area surrounding the Langhe (Verduno is, albeit marginally, one of the municipalities where Barolo can be produced). Pelaverga in Verduno has been documented since the eighteenth century, even though the grape variety - which also differs in several clones - was already known in other areas of Piedmont. Ruby in colour, it expresses notes of blackcurrant and white pepper; on the palate it has a low alcohol content, delicate tannin and moderate acidity, which makes it suitable for consumption at a young age.
