Durella
In the Veneto Lessini Mountains area, the predominant grape variety, to which garganega yields, is durella. A white grape that, as its name suggests [durella means “hard” in English], expresses, thanks also to its calcareous-vulcanic soils, great acidity and mineral hardness, slender structure but splendid longevity. With aromatic and taste sensations between floral, citrine and almond, the durella gives life to the durello wine, a particularly vertical dry white. Excellent, indeed sublime, as a spumante, especially classic method, sometimes with a portion of international grapes (chardonnay or pinot nero) and also with ageing on the lees for more than five years.
